• When the switch is depressed in the up position, terminal 1b is now connected to terminal 1 (positive output to motor)
• When the switch is depressed in the up position, terminal 2b is now connected to terminal 2 (negative output to motor)
• When the switch is depressed in the down position, terminal 1b is now connected to terminal 2 (positive output to motor)
• When the switch is depressed in the down position, terminal 1a is now connected to terminal 1 (negative output to motor)
• When the switch is in the rest position (center), terminals 1a and 1 are connected and are at ground potential.
• When the switch is in the rest position (center), terminals 2b and 2 are connected and are at ground potential.
